  James A. Davis Jr.  -

Graduated in 1985 from the Horton Michigan High School, and in 1987 started working for the Somerset Twp Police Department as a patrolman. In 1989 Jim attended a community college in Cheyenne Wyoming for a Criminal Justice Degree. Worked as a youth counselor at a juvenile detention facility and for an adult correctional facility. In July 1992 he took a job for the Department of Correctional Services in West Union as a Residential probation Officer. In December of 2000 Jim obtained the position of Chief Deputy for the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.  In 2001 he was awarded the Gold Seal award for working with domestic violence victims. He was also certified as a Clandestine Lab Deputy and started working with the task force in 2001.  In 2004 Jim received a federal award for his efforts in drug enforcement. Has been the program director for the Fayette County Sheriff's Office  Domestic and Sexual Abuse Response Team. (DASART) He has been on the State Grant review board for two years and is currently the training coordinator for Helping Services in Decorah to train local law enforcement agencies in domestic abuse investigations.
